Is there a little filter thing by the MAF that you can remove and it adds 4 rwhp. I have heard a little about this and was just wondering where and what it is.

 

It's apart of your intake system. There was an article acouple months ago on how to get an easy 20hp on the new stangs.I loaned it to my buddy and should get it back next week.I will check this thread when I get it back and I no one helps you by then I'll give you the exact name and location.

 

Yes, its a honeycomb part thats inside of the stock air intake hose. You have a Steeda CAI? you already removed your stock intake hose and box so its already gone.

Yeah no doubt. The 05's have them but i guess the 06-07 Ford did not install them at all. I took mine out after i heard about it, before i put my Granatelli CAI on.

Only the early 05's had them. Mine was built in mid June of 05 and it didn't have one. Assuming you had one and removed it is good for about 4 - 5 hp.

 

My Gt was built in March of 2005 and had it. One of the last ones I guess. Removing it added no noticeable power to the car, so I highly doubt the claim of 4-5 RWHP! Maybe 1 or 2 at the crank...
I'm keeping it as it might be a valuable collector piece in 30 years when folks try to rebuild original 2005 S197's!
