my car was vandalized... 3 times. First it got shaving creamed while i was at school, then my ex keyed it, and a few nights ago i got egged going 40 which chipped my paint off and stripped the clear coat. So, i basically need a full paint job now. I havent talked to my insurance agent, and i'm not sure what plan i have but i know i have a $500 deductable and we're going through state farm. Through thier comprehensive coverage, it says they cover things like vandalisms with a chance of a deductable having to be payed. Do you think they will cover it or make me pay?

RE: Insurance
Have you made any police reports on these incidents? I'm sure they are going to want some kind of documentation.
My friend is a lawyer and he sues insurance co's a lot and he has always said it's hard to get State Farm to open up their wallet.
Never hurts to try...

RE: Insurance
My experience with State farm has been positive.
A couple years ago I had 2 Waverunners stolen right out of my driveway and State Farm payed me off within a couple weeks of the incident. No hassles, no dragging their heels or anything lke that..

RE: Insurance
Im not with State Farm but when my 04 GT was egged earlier this year it did $1,100 worth of damage to my drivers side. I did make a police report because my insurance company did want a report from the police department. Paid my $500 deductible and got my car fixed. Make a police report, it wouldnt hurt and all insurance companies jack around with documentation different!

RE: Insurance
Again, I dont know about State Farm but my rates did not go up because it was a comprehensive claim (act of vandalism). Maybe I just got good insurance but my rates actually went down on next renewal. If all the damage is on the same part of the car, it wont matter when the car was keyed. If they have to repaint the car for egg damage, the key damage will automatically get repaired, the insurance can not deny that claim because it was previously keyed. Ive been there, done that, can write a book. BUT AGAIN, it could be all about who your provider is. My policy is written through Farm Bureau and Im in Texas so who knows!! Good luck either way, I know that had to suck *****!!!!
