Snow Tires.... I know, I know....

RE: Snow Tires.... I know, I know....
You cant go wrong with bridgestone blizzaks. They work great. I have WS-50's on another car (not the mustang) and they have good traction in the snow and ice and rain.
But in anything else other than that, they are kinda soft and at 70+ they get a bit squirly. But they are chunky snow tires. Thats what they are supposed to do. They have a harsher ride, etc. But for all out snow traction, they just grab.
The new trend is supposidly these performance winter snows like the blizzak lm-22. They are more money but claim like 90% of the ability of a full blown winter tire with an H speed rating. I might try a set of these on the stang.
Tire rack is having a 50 buck rebate on a set of any four blizzak tires for another week or so. They also have a similar deal on the dunlop wintersports. But I have never used the dunlops.

Used Dunlop SP Winter Sports over the winter on my Mercedes and the worked out great. And for the sunny days, they are V-rated.
EDIT: Forgot to mention I live at the mouth of a canyon in Utah and the Dunlops still performed well.

Driving in the winter with the stang, i do the same thing, i was worried the first winter, but drive sensable and keeping the tc on i dont have too much of a problem.
The blizzaks are good tires, also the Pirelli Winter 210 Sottozero are good as well.

Looks like it'll be Blizzaks... Can anyone recomend a size for the stock rims? I'd like to have a little taller tire, but I guess winter tires should be thinner too, so any guesses a 17x8 rim?

The skinnier the better for snow tires, you might be able to get away with a 225, but probably a 235 width.
