Default Glassbacks

After seeing hooverimg's glassback in the post your car thread, I thought we needed an thread dedicated to a discussion on glassbacks.

I never seen one until I saw hooverrimg's pics. Damn impressive. What's even more interesting is that Glassback.com says this is offered as an option from Ford. That's news to me.

Looks cool. But the limited 3 year warranty concerns me. Also, can anyone give a price, installed aftermarket? Hooverimg? It looks excrutiatingly expensive.

Lol. I guess the glassbacks aren't a popular thing around here.

The dealer that my car came from had one on an '06 GT in Vista Blue. The price increase for it was $4000. Don't know who made it nor whether that price is typical.

I've got one. The invoice for the roof was $2995....but I got it for free since the car was a demo for the Glassback roof. I posted some pics in the calling all Tungsten's thread. I personally would not have paid the $3K for the roof because I would have rather put that into performance mods......but I am really happy I have it. It is very unique and changes the entire feel of the interior. I haven't seen another Mustang with the Glassback yet in person......so it makes my stang a little special.

i used to be really interested in the glassback roof, but that was before i realized a sunroof could be installed on the coupe...

bascho, does the interior of ur car start to bake if u leave it out in the sun?

Darn, at 3 - 4K, I'm going to have to pass at the notion of getting one. Especially since the warranty is only 3 years. I can get a factory grade power sunroof made by the same company (Webasto) installed for about 1.5k, and it comes with a lifetime warranty.

Honestly, I don't recall the markup for the Glassback...I believe 3-4K sounds correct. Fortunately, the dealer showed me some love. Nonetheless, the glassback is the one piece of the car that always draws the ahhhhhhhh factor. It diffentatly gives the car character.
