Default Welding on SLP LMs?

Well my father and I were talking, and he seems to be under the impression that you need to weld on SLP Loudmouths. Now I am pretty sure that is incorrect. What do you guys think?

Nope, I installed mine using the clamps that came with them.. none of this exhaust is welded from the factory.. and theres no reason to. Especially with something like axle backs... If you happen to not like them you simply take off the clamps and put something else on, with if you welded them on then you would have to cut the pipe off before the weld which would leave it shorter than stock.

Funny...my dad told me the same thing. He claims that "back in his day" he could never get the clamps to stay tight, and they would rattle and/or torque out of alignment. I forget which vehicle he had at that time, though...

I know! Maybe back in the 70's you had to weld them, cause he said that they would rattle, and maybe even blow off!

Ya.. Ive had no problems with mine rattling or moving or anything like that, and Ive checked them regularly because the chrome gets polished every weekend... theyve stayed tight with no sound (apart from the awesome exhaust sound) for about 3 months now.

Nope, no welding. THe clamps are well made and work great. Welding is a BAD idea, in case you want to change it out.
