Default Oil

Was just over on another Mustang forum, there saying synthetic oil is bad for our engines, that the blend should be used, something to do with the varible timing. Anybody heard of this ? If this is true which I don't really think it is, there's going to be alot of bad engines because it seems the majority of us are using a full synthetic.

I've been an avid Redline fan for years and several hundred thosand miles. I talked to them when I found that Ford wanted to run 5w-20 in the GT. I have been a believer in 20w-50 for all those years. Redline told me that if you used a heavier viscosity oil that you could get cold running misfires, Said to use what the Mfg recomended.

Hey cfr865. They are maroons! They dont have a clue what they are talking about. A full synthetic oil is far superior to any blend period. The full synthetics are better for the Ford mod motors because of their tight clearences.

That is not true... oil is not going to hurt your engine if you change it like you are supposed too..

I am going to put full synthetic in mine after I hit the 2,000 mile mark.. ( at 1,700 miles on her now )

BTW: I have worked on cars for over 20+ years .. and have seen it all.. people that by into the " get 15,000 miles out of this oil " are the ones that end up with engine damage.. not just by using whatever oil floats your boat .. (what you prefer/like .. brand name ) yes some are better than others.. but that is a LONG story..!!!!!

not my opinion .. but the truth.. ( was a ASE Master Tech. )

I'm going to put synthetic in at 1,000 miles...I'm going to put synthetic in at 2,500 miles...etc. Your car turns thousands of revolutions per minute. It's broke in. Put the synthetic in ASAP.
