Default Just about done with SEMA tubo kit

Well after 6 months of development and SEMA flying up fast I thought I would throw up some pics of the turbo kit I'll be showing off at SEMA this year. Anybody else going to sema or having a vehicle there?

Ya were also building a Shelby Gt500 wide body kit and a Twin turbo version but that shouldn't be done till the new year.

I bet those cats don't do much as far back as they are. I have serious doubts they would ever reach operating temp. Not to mention how hard that car would be to work on, it would be a nightmare to have to change a clutch.

Its still pre production, but yes we had many issues trying to find a good location for the cats but because I knew many people would aks if its 50 state legal I wanted to make sure the vehicle had cats. Considering theres a turbo on the vehicle I promiss you those cats get plenty warm. The mounting points for the tubing can be easily removed in under 15 minutes. Since we tend to do alot fo racing out on the track we thought of the clutch issue far in advance.

In my experience with turbos the added pipe length is what prevents the cats from getting hot and a turbo doesn't add heat to the exhaust system. You have added several feet of pipe in front of the cats and just because they are there doesn't mean you can say it is 50 state legal that would require a CARB EO number something no Mustang turbo kit has EVER done. The GMS kit has a cat much closer to the turbo and it isn't 50 state legal I would be really interested to know how you expect this kit to pass. I would say it is safe to assume there is at least 7 feet of pipe in front of the cats, that is a lot of pipe to disperse heat before the cats.

I agree with you on the emissions point of view, that no turbo kit has ever gained a 50 state legal emissions but we can try
I should say I don't have any intentions of gaining a 50 state emisisons legal qualification for this kit (if it becomes production). This design is of course made for SEMA and is pre production.

" a turbo doesn't add heat to the exhaust system." How does a turbo which is moving hot exhaust gases not heat up metal tubing?

If It does make it to production I won't be seeking a emission legal status for the same reasons you have stated because you are correct. At this time I know it does pass virigina emssions
