Default Advice please!

I replaced my exhaust system and now I have the stock parts to sell. Catted H Pipe and stock headers. Does anyone know where the best place to sell these would be? ebay? I priced the stock H Pipe from Ford and it is an unbelievable 1732.00 for a replacement part! What should I be able to get for this? Even the stock headers are around 300.00. Is there a market for these items?

Maybe in 20-25 years when these cars are being restored there will be a market. I would just hang on to them. Who knows if your car is too loud or not legal with your mods, you'll have them available to put it back to stock if necessary, and won't have to buy them again. My stock mufflers are in my garage in a box.

I doubt you'll get much money for the stock cast-iron manifolds as there's really no need for them now (maybe in 20 years...)

But, the V6 guys will pay a pretty penny for the H-pipe and everything back from there. GT Exhaust swaps are popular on those cars.

you could sell the system as a take off for a V6 conversion. You will never get anywhere near the dealer price since the dealer is overpriced to begin with. Example: Motorcraft NEW water pump from dealer $200, Motorcraft NEW waterpump from rock auto $85. Starter Dealer $278, Starter Rock Auto $145. Exhaust H-pipe Dealer $1732 Ford Racing..probably half that or less.

I kept the factory exhaust parts that I replaced. Figured if I ended up not likeing my new stuff I could go back to them. OR if I started getting tickets or flunking inspections, I had something to fall back to.

One word of advice, Dont get busted selling used Cats..... It is illegal, if you sell them, keep it local and cash only, I used to think the law only applied to business, but it also applies to individuals as well, Damn EPA!!!
