Are you nuts? (lol)... just kidding with ya. No I have a 2000 Mits Galant as a daily driver. If you're gonna do this much custom paint you cannot have it as a daily driver. (unless you're a millionaire and don't care about anything) The highway debris flying up will destroy it soon enough and of course the salt and sand here in MA in our snowy winters would be a killer. I have about 800mi on it now. Take it to work now and then on nice days; use on weekends mostly; hasn't seen a raindrop yet :-)

Good question though just the same; Everyone has their own "way of life" should I say.

Didn't think so! Know what you mean, gotta a friend at work who is a PT Cruiser nut and has a flamed out car with an awesome custom paint job from one of the best shops in Houston. He does drive it to work (he lives real close) and gets to work at 5:30 a.m. to get the best parking spot in the garage. This guy with the Windveil Blue might like the ghost flames like that guy does on all of the Overhaulin' shows when they need ghost flames done. IMO

Oh yeah, ghost flames done right are quite beautiful, but sure if the car is a daily driver I would not recommend spending the $$ for it; you can't help but be concerned about the custom paint if your out all the time and parking where you know you're gonna get hit a few times. People just don't care. When I go out to places, particularly weekend nights, I often have to take the Mits and leave the stang home cause I just know when I come out theres a good chance some drunken fool has backed into me and skipped the scene. Even w/o the custom paint I still wouldn't leave a new stang at a lot of places; nice to have a second set of wheels as a "driver".

Agree, having a black stang has changed the way I park and which car my wife and I take to certain places. I am reallllll picky about the spot I will park in. No matter how hard you try though, some jerk in a piece of crap will try to park next to you. I really like your paint job man, and would have loved to watch them lay it out and paint it.

Thanks man... actually I got to tell the guy how I wanted the pattern to be; it took us about 45 mins to do one half (he made a pounce pattern and did the opposite half when I wasn't there.) It's a perfect symetrical copy from one side to the other. Then he must have loaded this little gun he had about 15 times gradually going from yellow to red. That was amazing to see. He did some airbrushing for affect but can't see that in the pics it's very subtle. The transition from yellow to red is quite a bit more gradual than the pictures show.

Then I had this other guy who is a striper by trade; that's all he does. ...and he outlined the entire pattern in the blue. His work is just beyond what I ever expected for hand done striping. So yeah, it was fun to watch (only watched the striper for about 20 mins; he likes to work alone)

It was then cleared again; sanded, rotary buffed to an no orange peel, mirror finish.

Some great craftsmanship out there that's for sure. Glad you like it!

Jim

Ghost flames would probably look really good on our color cars. I'm too much of a chicken to get that done to my car, as it is my daily driver. If you do find any pictures of some flames on a Windveil blue post em here, I would also like to see what it would actually look like.
