I have a 06 GT and I want to replace my factory speakers. I have the base speakers and cd player, not the shaker 500 or 1000. Do I have 4 6x8's? And is there a speaker out there that is known as the "best"? Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, wasnt sure.

I believe it's four 5x7s. As for what is the "best", go to some showrooms and listen. If you ask that question online, you'll get a million different answers from a million different people, most car audio guys are pretty brand loyal. For myself, I've found that there are plenty of non-brand name speakers out there, dirt cheap, that sound awesome. You pay a lot for an alpine logo.

Just putting a good head unit on the stock speakers will bring the sound alive, I'd try that first. Kenwood makes some nice double-din decks.

You have 6x8's or 5x7's there the same thing, And there are many good speaker companies out there, I went with Alpine Type R's and they sound awesome!! I went with component speakers all around they sound so clean. I mounted 6x9's under the rear deck in place of the 6x8's. The factory is 6x8.
