When do you guys think the prices for 07 GT500's price will go near the 45K range?

If Ford will produce 10,000 units as they first indicated, then I think they will come down in price after a couple of thousand have hit the streets. I would expect at the 5,000 mark, they will be at MSRP and at the end of production, they will go for something less than MSRP.
My $0.02.

Caddy CTSV's were going for $5K to $15K (Norcal) initially, then came down to sticker and below within a month or two after the first ones were delivered. New Z06's, out for many months now, are still going for well over sticker. The difference is that the CTSV was not the M killer it was marketed as.....and the Z06 on the other hand has lived up to and exceeded every expectation.
GT500? probably somewhere in the middle. There was much more "pent up" demand, but the fact that they can be found on dealer lots for MSRP plus $10K, after such a short time.....is an indicator that they will fall to sticker or below sooner than the Z06.....but there is a lot more mustang faithful than there are Caddy faithful, so they will probably not be so easy to get for a while.
In other words, my post is a bit worthless.....

Anyways, I have noticed as of late (last 2 weeks) that Ford has GT500 commercials on TV. I think the reason that they are advertising is to keep people more interested the car and keep the demand going. Why else would you advertise a product that is already selling itself specially from a company that just claimed losses for the last quarter?
I hope the prices do stay high but is in very unlikely.
How have people been getting these cars insured. I mean if I tell my insurance company that I bought a GT500, they will only insure me for $40k, what about the difference?

You're pretty much just screwed then, depending on your insurance company. I would say they wouldn't cover the difference although with my insurance if you total the car they determine the worth of the car.

I don't know if any of you guys ever look at cars on ebay, but way before the Shelby was actually released the Ford stealerships were having auctions for the right to buy. Whatever the auction ended at is what you pay for the car. Bidding started at MSRP and I saw a couple go for over 100k!!! That is just plain crazy. I could think of a few other cars I would pay that much for before I would even consider the Shelby. As long as people are willing to pay, the prices will stay high.

Many dealers are selling them on ebay. a dealer in my area had one on the lot for $43K MSRP plus $26k dealer markup. No bites at the dealership so they listed it on ebay and sold it for $73K.
Supply and Demand... I think I learned something about it in economics... still crazy.

Think like a multi millionare for a sec....
There's a car that just came out that not that many people have, that stickers around $43K + dealer markup. (whatever that maybe) You already own a $150K-$200K Mercedes or BMW or whatever, and BTW your neighbor has one too. LMAO Do you think that an extra 15-25K on top of the MSRP is going to make them think twice???? Me, I'd buy 2. Now back to reality so I'll just look at them and think.

As soon as gas goes back up, the prices will come down, if the popularity doesnt. I would love to get my hands on 1 for msrp. My Dad want a Shelby in the worst way, but is not going to pay over msrp. However he is working on a shelby gt for msrp, not the 500.
