Default Tire Rack.... Grrrrrrr.....

So I order my 4 Michelin X-Ice a month ago with a estimated availability date of 10/1. Now I now it said estimated, but NOW it's 11/04! I can't wait that long, so I had to cancel the order and bite the bullet and went to Discount, who had the tires in stock, but had to pay $150 more. ::sigh::

well tire rack is usually very backed up. i was going to get an eibach pro kit from them and they said 2 months, then 6 because of so much backorder. It really depends on what your ordering, if its in high demand, of course its going to be hard to get. even if u did order it back along time ago, so did alot of other people. However, tirerack is nationally known for its good response time and realibility, so if u really want a great part that will have 100 percent reliability or somthing close to that, i would wait, but then again....im an impatient sob. cheers

Yep... The service rep told me they were delayed another month, so I canceled the order.

I had great service from them when I ought my wheels. They were hre in 2 days and I didn't even
pay for expedited shipping.

I thought I had a head start on the snow tire rush, I guess I was wrong.

I'll still use them again if I need wheels/tires, it's just one of those things. Just needed to bitch about it.

Sounds like you wanted a high demand item... I just hate when people think that they need to find another vendor base strictly on an incomplete review like this... Tire Rack has been great... they can't help that they are out of stock...

Agreed... But there website did say delivery date of 10/1, and the 3 weeks later they changed it to 11/4. Discount had them in stock, so I know Michelin is producing and shipping them.

The change of the ETA is what what really p!ssed me off. But like I said, I'll still use Tire Rack, they've also delvd in the past, and quickly.

I've had good experiences with tirerack.com, too.

I understand how the change in availibility date can be aggravating, though. If anything you'd expect them to be overly conservative on the date and then hopefully they'd deliver it earlier.

But, I'll still shop there! My brother works 15 mins from their main warehouse and he can pick up tires for me...
