Default Thinking of buying an 07 GT

Im thinking of buying an 07 GT in the spring time now that i can comfortably afford 2 vehicles. So im just wondering, too everyone that owns a S197, are you happy with it? other cars im looking at getting are an 03/04 cobra, or a mk4 supra. Ive been doing a lot of research on the new mustang and it seems like they take well to boltons however so do my 2 other choice cars, but it would be nice to hear some feedback from owners of modifed stangs. my plans would be eventually full boltons and a blower or a turbocharger but we will see. when i was 16 i owned a 95 LX 5spd and it was a blast and then i sold it and bought an 87 supra which was faster but had to sell it do to me moving to calgary. im not really a newb when it comes to cars but it would be nice to hear from some owners. Thanks in advance and please dont flame me for liking supras... its in my blood.

I love my S197. When I was car shopping I was deciding on an S197, Terminator or a Subaru WRX. I checked all of them out and got to drive the S197 and the Subaru. The S197 seemed to be the best fit being; it was new, they DO take bolt ons very well and I liked the retro body styling.

After 4,000 miles on my car I couldn't be happier with it. Well unless I had some boost!

Oh ya if you get the 07 go with the 3.55 gears. Or just go with the 3.31's if you plan on swapping them out later.

Yea, if you want overal speed Cobra would fit your needs, if you want your engine to break down after you mod it alot then go Supra, if you want overall performace/looks/ reliability go for 07 GT.

nahh a well built supra is pretty reliable but yah, im just not up for paying 40grand for a 10year old car.
What are the differences between the 07 and earlier year S197's? im pretty pissed because they dont come in yellow anymore instead they have grabber orange.

There is litterally no difference between them, the 2007 can come with a hoodscoop and thats about the only difference.

I pity the Foo who doesn't like Grabber Orange!

I have 36000 on my 05 GT and have added many add ons and love it. THere is always something to add and they only improve the car. Once you get started you will have a hard time stopping adding things to it. With all the mods and extra power i get between 22 and 25 miles per gallon depending on my mood. She also still turns heads and i get a ton of questions from people. So to end i love my car.

My 07 GT is a manual 5 speed. Has the Shaker 500 sound system, leather everything, power everything, and has beautiful black clear coat paint with white stripes. Ive done the 93 octane Brenspeed tune, and run a C&L CAI and a set of Pypes axel backs in polished stainless steel. I make up reasons to go to the dumbest places just for the pure fun of it!

I highly recommend it ! Oh ya.....Toyota's are very well built, and the Supra at least some of them are bad to the bone. The Mustang GT will make you forget you ever heard of Toyota!
