Yes, it is difficult if not impossible to dry. It also allows dry spots to form on the bumper. However, its about the same as the spots left over from the front grill. I just go out the next day and remove the water spots with a damp chamois. Heres a pic of mine with the stainless light bezels. I had to have these two items. They remind me of the rear end of my 70 Mach1.

Looks real nice! Cleaning would definately make me think twice about it, but the look of it overpowers all.

I had mine for about a year. 3Mtape included is enough. To clean is not bad at all, just wipe with the wash mitt and rinse. To dry is no big deal nor difficult or impossible LOLOL. After I dry the trunk I pop the trunk open and lay an old chamois over the honeycomb and let it sit there while I dry half of the car. by then the chamois sucked all the water in the honeycomb. I use the same chamois and squeeze it between the front grill and bumper, it'll suck the water while I finish drying the car.

Looks great. I also have a Windviel Blue GT and think you just made my decision a whole lot easier.
