305's in the rear and 255 or 275 in the front is what I'm looking at going with for the street. I'll run the stock 235's for the front at the strip.
I'm going to go for a slightly larger rear tire profile to get a bit of the raked look.

True[&o], I'll concede that...if the wheels are right for the car, they look good. Check out www.carrollshelbywheels.com

What do you think of the CS67s?

You know Sherwood that CS67 is not bad, that would be the one Id pick or maybe even the CS66. Those are certainly not a bad looking wheels, if you set the car up right and not overdue and "over mod". I think wheel preference is just like exhaust.....there are so many set ups to choose from to accommodate the mass amount of preference and taste!!!

20s are in no way performance rims, honestly i dont really think they even look nice but thats just me, i always look at things from a performance standpoint before a cosmetic standpoint, i think 18 is the best on these cars.

as it will allow for a nice big set of brakes

And ya know what, I think you made a good point there......depends on if you're out for show or go.........If I was building my stang more for go, I could understand....so you have to consider what is your mustang "purpose" [sm=exactly.gif] But that doesnt mean a 20" does not look good on a stang [sm=drooldude.gif]

i have to say that car looked nice but look at the car.. lowered, wing, waxed, spriped.. those fills your eyes more than wheels does.. 20' is not for sports / muscle cars!!! they slow you down!! it is your car do whatever you want man..but 20' wheels are definetely not me! i need traction, i need more powers to the wheels.
i answered your 2 questions above.. have a nice day!
so y do the cervini and rousch and other aftermarket stangs all come with 20s?
they come with 20's cuz of look.. 20' wheels slows you down!! effects your performance.

Doodad,
If 20's rob power? Add some! Sorry but I have no problem overpowering the 20's with the Stage 2 JDM tuned Saleen S/C in the Yellow vert!
First thing my wife said after she drove her new Black vert home was "It needs more power!" Are 20's for everyone NOPE! But to say 20's don't look good and a s197 is an opinion and I personaly don't agree. I think there are lots of different sized wheels that look both good on our cars. Then there are some ugly ones too, but it's the style of those rims more then the rim size to me.

Revlefty
Did you try that link I sent you? The new set I got for the wifes car have a different center cap but oh black on black looks good! (IMHO) It snowed today so I guess the 20's are comming off each car tomorrow or Wednesday and the studded 17's are going back on for the winter. Yep convertibles in Alaska in the winter!

so are you saying that 20s actualy makes u go faster? if so, i suggest you read the entire forums about wheels.. BIGGER WHEELS = less performance.. everyone will say that to you.. go open threads at other mustang or NON-MUSTANG web sites.. i dont wanna get in a argumenet here and hi-jack this gentelman's thread.. u will find out that by yourself!!

also you better over power your SALEEN SUPERCHARGED car.. but compare to 20' saleen S/C stang vs 17' saleen s/c mustang.. i say 17' has the edge of winning!!

How could you possibly read into my post that I think 20's give me more power?
Are you just trying to pick yet another internet fight?
ENOUGH SAID!

05SDI, Yes I got the link, thank you. They were exactly what I was looking for.

On the 20's issue, It deffinitely depends on what you want out of this car. My mods are for show not go. I'll never go to the track, I don't drag race, so for me this car is plently fast.

I still want 315's REALLY bad!

you changed you post after I posted
OK Knowing first hand the answer to your question about S/C 20's vs S/C 17's! The 285/30/20 BFG KWD2's hooked up MUCH better then the 235/55/17 stock Pirelli's. Please stick with arguments you personally have some experience with. You don't have 20's you don't have a S/C car so anything you have to say on this subject compairing the two is "hear say" on your part! You are saying every 20" rim tire combo has less performance then every 17" rim tire combo and I'm saying THAT'S NOT TRUE!. Not every 20" rim weighs 28+ pounds, on the same hand not every 17" rim weighs 19 pounds. If you have the money 20" rims weighing 21 pounds can be found! I also assume your used of the term 'performance' is in straight line only! So tell us how much a 17" rim is better then a 20" rim on our cars when taking corners?

EDIT only to fix grammer!
