doodad,
You are the greatest godlike person to ever have sat behind the wheel of a Mustang. I am unworthy to post in any thread you have laid eyes on. You are the greatest driver and most knowledgeable person on this or any forum that may exist! Meanwhile the rest of us will pursue on with our meaningless meager lives hoping we can one day strive to be able to walk in your shadow. Oh great one, Please forgive me!

Oh if I could only live in your world, but I'm sure it's vet small and lonely!!

Thinking like you I'd guess a car would look stupid and loose performance with 20" rims and no tires! So explain how you can talk about changing to 20" rims WITHOUT change the tires also? Again, and I'll type it slow so you can keep up; "Y O U C A N ' T C H A N G E T O T W E N T Y I N C H W H E E L S W I T H O U T C H A N G I N G T I R E S A L S O ! H E L L O !!

he didn't say not to change the tire but to use the same brand and series to have a fair comparison and to also have a fair comparison you would have to use the same car
that way you only compare the diff rims and the tires have the same qualities because if you compare 20's with Nitto's to 17's with Pirelli's most likely the nitto will win its a better tire but if you compare 17's with Nitto's to 20's with Pirelli's the nitto will likely win as well but if you compare 17's and 20' both with nittos the 17's will win because you've taken the tire out of the equation and now your comparing rim to rim

but if you like the look of the rim and your more cosmetic or an OZ. of performance doesn't matter go with what you like

OK, I'm going to jump in here and pour water on the fire and steer the subject in the direction of a legitimate subject.

10" wide wheels....will they fit on the front of the Mustang? Anybody have 10s on theirs? What are the pros and cons?

THANKS!

first off what is an OZ? Guess I'm too old to know this term?

OK so bigger wheels rob perfomance isn't that what is being said here?

2007 Corvette rear rims = 19"
2005 Viper rear rims = 18"
2007 911 porsche rear rims = 18"

OMG someone from the internet forum needs to inform GM that their Corvette would be way quicker, faster, and handle better if they would run 18 inch wheels better yet maybe the could go back to the 60's and run 14" wheels!

Please read through my posts and quote me where I stated 20" rims were the best? Quote me where I said 20" were beter then ANYTHING? As I did neither of those! I DID say something to the effect, that putting out a broad statement that every set of 20" bolted on to every car makes that car lose performance is untrue!

yes I didn't like the way the car felt. Car tracked every road grove, (and to add to others have posted here lol) On the front they felt 'heavy' as in too much tire not weight. Seemed as though it would wear out things in the steering faster..... On and my performance dropped .... oh wait I already had 20's on the front strike that last comment from the record... (attempt @ humor)

To help clear up the MYTH that 20s negatively affect performance....quite the opposite

http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse....ment_Guide.cfm

Plus Sizing

One of the easiest ways to improve the performance of your vehicle is with Plus Sizing wheels and tires. Plus Sizing refers to tires that are wider and have a shorter sidewall. The result is a larger contact patch and a sportier look.

Drivers choose Plus Sizing to improve:
• Steering response
• Handling
• Cornering ability
• The look of your vehicle

What's "Inch Up"?
"Inch Up" is the process of mounting a lower aspect ratio tire and larger diameter wheel on your car. This effect creates a larger contact patch and a shorter sidewall.

Why "Inch Up"?
"Inch Up" to improve your vehicle's performance and appearance.
• Increased steering response
• Improved dry handling
• Enhanced cornering ability
• Aggressive good looks
