Default Performance Ford Magazine UK needs your help

Hi guys and girls,

Can you help us out, we are running a buying guide on the 05/06 Mustang GT soon and infomation over here is very hard to come by about them, is there any chance you could post what you know about the model?
Things like recalls for problems, possible upgrades, things to chck when looking to buy a second hand model would be a great help.

The ares we are covering are:

Engine
Transmission
Exterior
Interior
Brakes
Wheels & Tyres
Suspension

If you can help we can put you guys a plug in the magazine

Many thanks for your time,
Simon Hughes,

Alright I got some time so Ill try to help

Engine: GT comes standard with a 281 CI 4.6L 24 valve V8 producing 300hp @ 5750rpm and 320lb-ft @ 4500rpm
Transmission: 5 speed manual or automatic w/electonic overdrive
Exterior: Not sure what you want here, but it comes in Black(05-07), Performance White(05-07), Satin Silver(05-07), Vista Blue(06-07), Torch Red(05-07), Redfire(05-07), Screaming Yellow(05-06), Sonic Blue(05), Lime Green(05-07), Windveil Blue(05-07), Tungsten(05-07), Mineral Gray(05-06), Alloy(07)
Interior: No idea about this
Brakes: 4 wheel ABS disc brakes Front - 12.4" 30mm rotors w/aluminum double piston calipers Rear - 11.8" 30mm rotors w/aluminum double piston calipers
Wheels & Tires: 17" Bullitts upgradeable to 17" Machined or 18" Bullitts - Pirelli P Zero 235/55/17 or (I dont know specs of the 18" upgraded wheels sorry)
Suspension: MacPherson strut in the front and 3 link design in the back.

Thats all I got that I can think of/find with ease at the moment. BTW if you want ALL of the tech specs, our site actually has a page with all of them on it here

As far as recalls, there arent any, although there are a few TSBs (technical service bulletins), meaning if you car has this problem if you take it to a dealer they will fix it under warranty, free of charge. The TSBs can be found here for 2005 and here for 2006.

Upgrades.. the possibilites are endless. There are numberless parts for our car out there. One of the most popular bolt ons is the CAI and tune, which can add up to 30 hp. Tons of visual modifications out there, varying from different wheels to louvres to make the car look more retro to different hoods or fascias.

If I were buying a second hand model Id just look to make sure the car hasnt been beat on too badly or wrecked and that it was taken care of, both asthetically and mechanically. To some people a modded vehicle is a bad thing because it means they could have raced it at the track or beat on it.

Good luck with the guide.

Thanks for your help mate, I'll be able to use most of that.

Any other info on known problems would be really helpful.

Many thanks

yes I'd like to add something, when adding excessive horse power this tends to wear out rear tires sooner then expected! And your cheeks hurt from smiling too much!
