RE: 350-375 RWHP
Check out my sig it shows my mods so far...most of the bolt on stuff, I am missing headers, thats the last easy squeeze of power for me....but I only pullled 306 rwhp, granted this is on a mustang dyno whereas dynojets read much higher...in any case with headers I could possibly see another 15 rwhp putting me around 320ish..my tune was running lean so I could have some more power in there with a custom dyno tune so MAYBE around 330rwhp....getting the last 20rwhp hmmmm got me [:@]

The stock plates have valves that open and close inside them. Ford did this so that they could increase the MPG alittle and decrease emissions.
The issue is that they are an obstruction to the airflow at high RPM, so by replaceing them with units that don't have the valves you increase airflow, which increases HP.
Steeda sells billet ones for around $300, but ford racing released Cast ones that are about $100. You have to have a tune with the plates or you will get a CEL.
The plates are also a great place to do Direct port Injection with nitrous, and not only do you get the coolest air charge from the Direct port, you also don't have the fuel throughout the intake plenum so much less chance (basicaly zero chance) of fuel puddling.
For 300 I would pass unless I was going with direct port, as you can get the steeda ones CNC tapped and threaded. But for $100 its worth it if you already are having a tune done for the car. And don't forget that they will help add more HP as you increase the airflow thru the engine. So as you add a CAI and full exhaust its going to net more gains since there will be less restriction allowing the new mods to breath even easier. Then if you add cams and heads it really would be a must have mod.

To a point running lean will actually give you more power, it will just burn up your pistons in the process.
As far as an NA 375 HP 2005+ Mustang, I doubt you are going to reliably see it without going FI, and even if you could I can't see how it would be cost effective. You could get one of the kits from brenspeed or roush and make 400 - 450 for $3,000 - $5,000 and be done with it.

RE: 350-375 RWHP
The money that would be needed to buy:
LT headers $1200-1500
O/R X pipe $150-350
CAI + SCT + dyno tune $600
CMCV delete plates $100-300
Cams $700-800
UDPs $200
Trottle body $300
Alum driveshaft to reduce drive train loses $800-1000
That comes to $4050-5050 before install costs which might put the novice wrench close to $6000 and you would be right at 350whp according to Brenspeeds full bolt-on cammed 05 GT
For $6000 that gets you pretty close to the HO intercooled Whipple uninstalled which will put down between 450-475whp
And yes I know you may want Full exhaust and the aluminum driveshaft and probably a new clutch and flywheel but your are putting down another 100+whp
But if you are going to pay 6 grand for 75whp over stock, why not spend 8 grand for 150+whp

RE: 350-375 RWHP
To achieve 350-375 RWHP, you will need all the bolt-ons, plus ported heads or cams, or both. At that point, you will have spent about 5k-6k.
That's fine if you are dedicated to keeping the car N/A; however, you stated the car was a driver, so personally, I would not do the above.
If I were you I would give serious consideration to a Roush s/c. Your car will retain gtreat driveability, and have the power you seek with relatively little stress added to the engine. Not to mention the car would stil be covered by the factory warranty. Another benefit would be that when it came time to sell the car, you could remove the s/c and sell it to recoup some of your investment.
Another s/c option you might consider is a Saleen s/c from JDM. They have 2 packages good for 425-450 RWHP, and cost about 6k. Your warranty would be voided, but you'd have another 100hp over your goal. Just my opinion, but the Saleen is the cleanest looking s/c, and best bang for the buck in that department.

if you install a saleen s/c your warranty is surely voided???
so what are the only s/c out there that do not void warranty?
