Default FRPP drag pack any opinions?

Has anyone installed the FRPP drag pack? I'm mostly concerned with the auto kit. Does the tune it comes with address the sluggish shifts in the auto? I guess what I really want to know is, does anyone think it's worth the price tag or would the $1200 or so be better spent on other mods? Thanks

It's not worth the money IMHO.

Shorty headers are worthless and are a LOT of effort to install.

The intake/tune is allright, but an aftermarket version would be much better.

The oil filter is a joke.

The gears are great.

I would definatley spend my money on different parts instead.

#1 Mod: Get an aftermarket intake and tuner from a known shop, like Brenspeed or Evolution. I suggest either the C&L or the JLT intake and the SCT-2 tuner. It should cost you less than $600 for both.

#2 Mod: Aftermarket Lower control arms. I suggest BMR. (No sense in making more HP unless you can put it to the ground reliably).

#3 Mod: Gears. If you have an Auto, get 3.73s.

+1 on everything but the gears. I would recommened 4.10's for an auto. Unless you are going F/I later, go for 4.10's or 3.93's.

The tuner will help the shifting and eliminate throttle lag.

+1

And although i have not done gears yet I would also say stick with the 3.73 for the Auto. I know back when i did the gears in my truck everyone kept saying get the 4.56 you will be fine but the RPM's were way to high and i wish I had gone with 4.10 or 4.30 and i am running 35" Mud Terrains on it. I truly think the RPM will be way to high with the 4.10' in the auto tanny.

3.90's would be a good compromise though. And there are plenty of gear manufatcure out that you can get those gears. Not sure why so many people here think FRRP is the only gear available.

stick with 3.73's in the auto. 4.10's are too much.

FRPP gears are the most RELIABLE

everything in the drag-pack is overpriced and produces negligible gains, except for the gears. An intake/tuner combo with gears will be much better for you

A friend of mine comparied his 07 GT auto with the 69 with a 427 and a C6 auto and the gears they came out with were 3.90's I believe or 3.91's. He said that the gear ratio's on both tranny's through the first two are real close, so he put the 3.91's in his car along with underdrive pullys and a programer and cut a half second off his 1000ft. time. Went from 11.5 to 11.0sec. in the 1000 ft. That's longest track we have around here.

He said he still gets around 23mpg doing 70-75 on the freeway.

Drag pack is waste, Buy the mods you want seperately from other manufacturers.
Shorties gain nothing over stock manifolds. Longtubes good for twenty maybe.
