It's just as easy as changing the oil. The only difference is the type of drain/fill plugs. Use a 3/8" ratchet (no socket needed) to remove the plugs.

The only other thing is, clean the threads real good and apply Permatex (or equivalent) gasket sealer on the threads before putting them back on. Don't remove that bolt that says "Do Not Remove" The fill plug is on the upper right side of the tranny. I would also recommend ramps, but you could use jacks and stands.

Oh, I picked up a Valvoline pump from Kragen for about $6. Attach it to your quart of fluid and pump away...

..and be prepared to make a huge mess on the garage floor and on your clothes, though I do it for all my cars.
Not a big mess if you have a lift and a proper fluid pump, but trying to use a hand pump with the car 18 inches off the floor is quite a challenge.

Torch,

Did you get that 4th quart that I mentioned in the other thread? It takes about 3.2 quarts.

torch red,
How many miles do you have on your 06? I've got about 4K on mine, but don't plan on changing either the tranny or rear end until I get to about 25K.
Just curious. Engine will always be @ 3K

I believe that full is at 1/2 inch below the the fill hole on an 07. Check your manual.

So how did the Royal Purple Synchromax work for you?

Is that the fluid of choice?
