Yes it was very good news and they said it was caused by the wheel. When they spun it on the wheel balancer, it must have shook side to side about 3/4 an inch.
I learned my lesson since I only have 2K miles on the wheel before I ruined it

(But the results do build confidence in my troubleshooting, hehe)

Almost all of my experiences with shimmy at 50+ is a damaged tire (separation of internal layers... stuff you can't see) or bent rim (again, even the smallest amount sometimes hard to see). Usually a major suspension problem and the car will pull/drift at any speed.
But let us know how it plays out from the shop, please.
