besides the fact that Howard Stern is a pig and an insult to the intelligence of anyone that listens to him. Just my opinion.

I have had 3 setups so far in my stang. I had the XM Roadie with the Delphi inline FM modulator to my Shaker 500 and it sounded nice. I wanted an improvement in sound so I replaced the Shaker head unit only with Kenwood with the Kenwood XM reciever. The sound quality improved dramatically. That was in my blue stang. In the mineral gray stang, I used the same Kenwood reciever because I knew it sounded good but went with the AUX adapter and kept the XM Roadie. This setup doesn't quite sound as good as the Kenwood XM reciever, but it is close.

I have the stock Shaker 500 unit and Sirius sounds great! My wife has XM, which I found to be boring. Can't find a good rock, 80's, etc channels. I would get your Shaker head looked at.

I dont have Sirius running with factory unit but have I do have it running with a Kenwood head unit in one car and the portable Streamer GT in our truck and they both sound awesome!!!! I have had not issues with Sirius sound quality, station selection, or customer service for that matter. I did have a problem with the receiver box, it blew up and I had to get another one and I think that was just because of where we mounted it (not enough air ventilation). Other than that, I love my Sirius!!!

From what I'm hearing I may just have a bad unit. I'm pretty close to getting my first oil change so when I go in for that I'll have them look at the shaker as well as my passenger window which just got its first scratch in my new tint. [:@]

I have the factory wired '07 sirius also, I think I had higher expectations as well...I just use my iPod and cd's. Sorry that I have that ugly *** receiver on my deck lid now too...

There have been a bunch of replies so I won't get long-winded... I have a kenwood head unit with sirius. It sounds 1000x better than my IPOD. There is just no comparison. I pulled the shaker 500 after 1-week. If Sirius sounds poor, it isn't the signal, it is the receiver from what I can tell.

Satelite radio generally has good sound quality, so I would take it to the dealership and get it looked at.
