If I use the ZFX and Z2, how long should it take to dry in the dry air of Colorado when it's about 50?

Taken from the Zaino site -
http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...de=APPLICATION

6. Let Z-5 or Z-2 PRO polish dry at least one hour. Please NOTE: Zaino Show Car Polish works best at 60 degrees or higher. However, it can be applied down to temperatures of 45 degrees. It just will take much, much longer to dry. As much as two to three hours drying time is required if the temperature is 50 degrees or below. Also, If the humidity is high. Longer drying time is necessary. Humidity is a killer on the drying time of Z-2 PRO or Z-5. The moisture in the air hinders drying time up to four times longer than normal. Sorry, but I can't help this. When you try to remove Z-2 PRO or Z-5 when it is still wet. All you're accomplishing is moving it around. Kinda like reapplying it. Also you need to use a LARGE White 100% Bath size towel (please refer to my Tips & Tricks sheet on my web site for the proper towels to use) to remove Z-2 PRO or Z-5. Smaller towels will not work efficiently.

Possibly. It was around 55-60 degrees out when I started, though it was getting dark as I was finishing up.
I followed directions exactly, not that they're that difficult
to start with. I washed the car in Dawn prior and ensured it was dry. That is the main reason for my disappointment.
I paid them $19.95 extra for the ZFX additive....waited 20-30minutes at least as the directions suggested...and now this.
Oh well. I did forward my 2cents to their customer service this morning.
Hello Zaino has a learning curve it is however an excellent product. Humidity plays a part in the drying process, As well as temp. It also sounds like you did not allow the product to dry. I suspect that you may have applied the product to heavy, you have to apply extremley thin coats. I have used zaino, and got the same effect spotting blothing. It wont hurt anything. Just wash your car to get rid of any dust that settled, and dry and buff off any residue and z-6, it will look nice.

If you prefer Carnuba products and obviously dont mind spending a bit of coin on your baby, lol. try Pinnacle Souveran. AWESOME.
I agree, most likely you applied it on to thick. Zaino needs to be applied very thin. I have had GREAT success with it. I use the ZFX when I am first doing the car....3 coats in one day. When I do periodic "touch ups" I don't. Bottom Line, I would give it a 2nd chance.....I think you will love it.

There could be other issues that I may have missed in your post, but I also believe that you *may* have applied the product too thick.
Lightly spritz your applicator with Z6 and apply. This will help to spread it a bit more even and thin.
I generally run a small line of product on the applicator pad, and will even dab it in the area that I am about to work.
In this case, less is more.

I usually let it sit for at least 30 minutes when it's 80 degrees outside. If it's as low as 60, I would let it sit for an hour. Try using a microfiber cloth too. You'll wonder why you ever used anything else. You should never have to buff the wax out. It just wipes off. Just give it time, it'll definitely be worth it in the end.

OK, so it'll be 58 here in Denver Saturday, I can apply Z1, the Z2 right over that, and wipe it off in about 4 hours, right?

This is why I don't use Zaino anymore. The old formulation was easy, the new formula is a pain in the rear. It's a crap shoot.. Sometimes it goes on and off easy.. Sometimes you can't get it off and you want to ram your head in the wall. Too frustrating for me to deal with. The last time I used Zaino, I mixed less than an ounce with 5 drops of zfx. Normally, that will harden if left in the bottle after 24 to 48 hours. Once again, I couldn't get it off the car because it wouldn't dry. So, I left the remainder in the bottle and after 2 weeks, still had not hardened. Oh, and before people start telling me I put it on wrong, I've been using Zaino since 2001. It's just been recently, the past year or so, that its been a problem. Try some of the Meguiars #21 synthetic sealant. I used some on my wife's Tahoe and it came out beautiful. Good Luck..

Thanks Frank... I have also used Zaino since '01 on 3 black vehicles. I hadn't used it for about a year until I bought the Mustang, 4 mos. ago. I have NEVER had the problems with Zaino that I did that day. I did not think to buy the FZX because I had never had a problem before.

Christ, Nu-Finish goes on anf off easier than this stuff!

I did buy some Turtle Wax Ice before I bought my newest Zaino kit, so I guess I'll give that a try now.

Probably less than that, especially if you are using ZFX.
Test it per the instuructions after about thirty minutes or so by wiping with your finger.
The 58 degree temp should be fine as long as you don't have high humidity as well.

Take some pics to show us.
