Sorry to hear about that. I know you were getting it installed at a shop, check if they tuned it. Otherwise, they may be buying you a new engine.

What was the car running like while it was working fine temperature wise, Oil pressure wise. i saw you said 7.5 lbs of boost. but thats just odd that it would die at 460

can you post pictures of the block after words also?

Yes it was tuned and tuned right my installer was working with John Urist and a person at Diablosport throughout the whole tune. He even fattened up the Air Fuel because it was at 12.4 on one of the first Dyno runs. He richened it up to 11.6 just to make sure it would be safe to drive. He put 100 miles of street driving on it to make sure that it was running good. Then I put 15 on it when it went boom.

Guess the 450 limit is a little to high...

How about 400? It still is a 100bhp increase, and 33,3% isn't nothing. To bad for the power junkies, but for the people that want to keep their engine it might be better not to go beyond that figure?

Maybe not I might have just had a week rod, 450 may be the number but I think torque was the problem. I was putting down 470+ft lbs at the rear wheels, which was probably the killer of that rod. Also I drove the car like I stole it from mile one.

I blew my stock engine for the first time when my vortech was installed. It ran with the canned tune for 2 days and went kaboom . It blew again at 8 psi with a very good custom tune for a week before blowing again.[:@]

I've got engine #3 right now and has been running great for 6K.

I have to say I regretted boosting this car. I'm looking for a 03, 04 Cobra engine right now. I would like to go back to 10 or 11 psi eventually.

It seems like our engines are somewhat sensitive...

Well I am getting my new engine together right now. I know I am going with a cobra Iron block with all forged internals. I am also going to run 8.5 to 9 compression pistons. Besides that I am not sure yet, I will also be adding a full blown fuel system at least new lines, pumps, rails and injectors. I am looking to crank it up between 12 to 15psi of boost. Hope it will stay together then considering I am building the whole powerplant. I am also going to talk to D&D on monday and see if they have a TKO 600 for my car or a nice T56. Needles to say my car will probably stay in the garage untill March.
