If you look here you will see that that is how they are meant to be.

If you look at any 1969 Boss 302 Mustang, you will see that the stripe continues to the back after the wheel well - such as this one...

Yeah, but unfortunately the lines of the S197 aren't as straight as the old muscle. So I agree it looks a little funky on yours. However, I am in agrement that I really like everything else. Great job and nice looking stang!!
