How bad is it
To grind a gear?
Because today i was leaving my house and i had my sprinklers on and my feet were slippery and going from first to second my foot slipped and i grinded ( ground ?) it. it scared the **** out of me. and then the next day i grinded it going from 2nd to 3rd...
I feel like this biggest noob.

It will be OK. Funny thing is that "grinding a gear" is not a trueful statement anyhow. In our trans, only reverse gear actually engages against another gear when shifting. Everything else is "constant mesh." What you grinded was the teeth on the synchro. It is a sort of "gear" that speeds up the shaft to allow engagement of the blocker ring. It is made of a metal similar to bronze and does wear when you grind the gears, but an occasional mishap is not going to kill the beast...
