I bought a vert and thought that it was very logical that there was not trunk release available because I wouldn't want someone walking up with the top down and punching a button and getting to the only locked compartment I have. So you guys are saying that the coupes do not have a trunk button?

That is what we're saying, no trunk release in the coupes either.....I had an 89 LeBaron vert that had a trunk release, but inside the trunk, right near the latch, was a lockout. If you wanted to lock something in there while the top was down, just flip the switch, and the trunk release was turned off.

I learned the hard way there wasn't one. After playing Golf I shut my truck and my keys were sitting in the space where the truck opens, so when it closes it got stuck where the water runs out, so no truck release and no keys, the chick I golfed with climbed in the trunk thru the car and used the yellow handle.

I have zero problem with there not being a truck release, I would imagine more and more cars will do away with it it's kind of pointless to have a key fob that is 6 inches in front of you, then have the factory build one into the car.

Actually there is a emergency trunk release. I had to use it after I was rearended and could not open the trunk from the outside. I had to pull the seat down and crawl through the back to open the emergency release. It's a safeguard if children are playing in the trunk & get locked in accidently.

Gee, I'm still wondering how do I unlock the passenger side door from the outside!!!

Hit the unlock button on the fob twice

It's a good thing you had a coupe. I locked my keys in the trunk of my vert in the golf bag and I had to call my wife. I wish we had onStar.
