Default Headlight replacement

Hello all -

I have a 06 V6 vert and I'd like to replace the stock headlamp assembly with these projectors I picked up a few days ago:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/2005-p...ts-chrome.html

I've removed the three bolts and the plastic screw that keeps the assembly in place. Now, how the heck do I get it out of the car without breaking the plastic anchoring tab? Do I have to take the front bumper off (and if I do, how do I do that?)? Any tips / tricks would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Sapan

Yes, the front bumper cover has to come off. Otherwise you run the risk of breaking one of the mounting tabs or worst yet, scratching the bumper cover trying to get the light housing out and then trying to get the new one in. It's not that hard to remove the bumper cover. The first time I did it it took about an hour to remove and replace includiing light install.

Here is a view with mounting points noted; http://www.myfilehut.com/userfiles/6...t%20bumper.pdf

It's becoming more and more common to have to remove the front fascia when replacing a headlamp on modern cars. The reason is that headlamps now use a "catcher bracket" which helps to keep the fascia tight to the under side of the lamp eliminating a gap. People need to get used to this as a normal part of servicing the vehicle. Because of this necessity the OEM's have made removing the fascia far easier than in the past.
