Default Threw my first code ever..... Please help

I had some weight in the back seat and scraped the rear on a speed bump!!

Here is the code that flashed and continued about every 10 mins there after! Other wise car drives fine!!

DTE FLI DATA ERR

It has nothing to do with any mods I have as it was instantaneous with hitting the underside of car.

Thanks

DTE...maybe that means distance to empty, as in the fuel level. I don't know for sure, just a guess.

Take your car to the dealer. The code very likely begins with a p046x. These codes mean that the rationality of your fuel level is somehow sketchy. These codes are common on this vehicle and to be honest, they are a total pain in the **** to take care of. It could be something as complicated as a module that is bad or something simple like sulfur buildup on your fuel level senders. The dealer may have you use a product called Techron. Chevron makes this and you can get it cheap at any local parts store. It is a fuel additive that is supposed to clean and prevent buildup from high sulfur gasoline (the entire country is getting crappy high sulfur fuel. This is the reason you may get a rotten egg smell from your exhaust as well). Otherwise if the treatment does not work, they are going to have to replace something. Unfortunately you won't be able to diagnose it yourself. The only thing you need to worry about is a small possibility of an inaccurate fuel gauge. Just take it in and be patient. Like I said, the codes are tough to diagnose so the techs will likely call us to get the best diag proceedure. Good luck, I hope they can fix it right the first time and not create too much of an inconvenience.
