Thanks for compliments! Lots of people are interested in stripes for their Stangs because these S197 bodies look great with a whole variety of stripes on them.
Vinyl is okay if you are on a budget and you can find painted ones much less expensive than I paid. So what if there is a post every other day about stripes?
Oh, yeah and these Boyd wheels are a big pain to keep up . I use Mother's billet polish, can make them shine like chrome!

My stripes cost me 1800$CDN and it was worth it.

Painted is the only way to go. 13 inch with 2 inch center. I paid $2000 for mine, Lemans and side. I wouldn't ever do vinyl.

Check back with me in a few years. I'll give you my thoughts about vinyl. If I didn't already have them, then I would get them painted on. I sure do like the looks of freefallpat's ride with the white stripes. I know no one is taking me seriously since I still have the stock rims and tires. That will soon be in my past.

Im getting mine done in two weeks. 12 inch with 2 inches in between. I would love to have them painted but cant afford it. Vinyl is good enough. when I saw a brand new shelby 500 with vinyl stripes, thats when I decided it was good enough for me and my pony.

I dont have stripes...... but ive seen both types and honestly from far away they both looked the same but when you got close you could really tell the difference painted stripes were much better IMO but i think it may have been the guy who put on the stripes because they were all out of line and stuff im sure both would look great but if i were you id go with painted......
