Default SCT Help!!!!!!

My car just thew it's first code and I'm having a little trouble figuring out how to fix it ... the code is engine safe mode. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with it and how to fix it? I'm heading to the track in the morning so I'd like to get that tune on there... thanks!

safe mode means your engine is basically shut down to about half power to save the engine from any or further damage. the owners manual only lists an overheat as a reason for the engine to go to safe mode.

We just got an SCT Tuner in and we followed the directions, loaded the program, then took it for a drive and it went to the safe mode. When we pull it back in and pop the hood we can tell it got stupid hot. Could it be a problem with the programmer?

Check what the temperature setting is for the cooling fans in the programmer. Mine was very high. And does it look like coolant came out from the radiator cap area(white residue looking)?

Nah... there was no coolant that came out. Everything seems to be right... Obviously it's not. I tried to get it to work 3 times and nothing. I called the company but they were closed. I guess that I'll just run without it for now. I'll call Monday to see what the deal is - thanks!

Hey,

Your best bet to getting an answer to that -- and any SCT questions -- is to email nick@americanmuscle.com . He's our programmer, and has not only extensive knowledge about the products, but will be able to go into your order and double check all of the tunes.

You can definitely still call on Monday, but whoever you speak to won't be able to transfer your call to him. The best way to reach him is to send an email.

Hope that helps!
