Default Vortex supercharger and Dyno

OK guys I have two questions. I went to talk to my tuner today and scheduled a dyno run next week to see if my A/F mixture is OK after installing my CAI and tune from Brenspeed. Question #1 He quoted me a total of about $180 for the run. Does this sound right? It sounds too high for me. He said it was $120 for the run and $60 for something else that I cant remember.

Second question is he said he was selling a Vortex supercharger brand new that he got as a promotion for 4K. He said it was an air to water blower. Is this a good deal and should I pick it up? I thought they were like 5-6K brand new, but not sure about the Vortex? Thanks.

Well..the answer to the second...A fellow forumite on another board has a Vortech with Meth injections and it runs and performs with little or no maint. All he has to do is top off the Meth.It is an 2005 Rousch Stage 1 with 3:73's.It turned about mid 400's for H.P. nad torque on the Dyno and the thing is a monster......it is for sale....I thinks he asking 35K. I think he paided about $6000.00 total for parts and install

if the s/c is 4k with install thats a pretty good deal. Normally they are around 4k unless its the polished chrome or whatever. Labor then is around 1k so if its 4k with install buy it

To answer the question about what the extra $60 is probably for. Most dyno operators will perform the pulls without hooking up for Air Fuel Ratio testing equipment for one price and than charge extra for the AFR portion, which should allow you to make adjustments between pulls if you have a DiabloSport or other hand held tuning device and they either will make recommendations or sometimes even do it for you. The extra money is money well spent unless you already know AFR on your car and are just looking for HP & Torque graphs.
The cost is higher than what we paid here in Nashville a few weeks ago, but our Wildhorses Club did it as a group thing and it cost me $95 for AFR and 3 pulls. Without AFR and 3 to 5 pulls it was $65 and a couple of the guys went this way.

Thanks for the replies. Yes the blower is polished and zcat I think your right on. He did mention something to that nature. Im trying to find out the list price of the blower (polished) with a air/water charger since this is what he has.

$4k for the Vortech S/C...is this with or without the intercooler?? that's the main question...

I paid around $4,300 for my Vortech S/C with intercooler and around $1,200 for professional install & custom dyno tune.

here's mine

05 mustang. Yes it is with the intercooler and it is the polished system. I think install would be 800-1000. How do you like your system? Is there alot of maintenance involved? I have to make a decision before this Friday or it will most likely be gone.
