I've heard a rumor that the '06 SVT Cobra is going to be released with a wet sump version of the Ford GT engine rated at 550bhp. Can anyone verify this?

 

the 06 is mine. lol

 

as of right now SVT is on hiatus, probably for another year or so. so there's really nothing in stone for the cobra in 06. they will make one, but it will most likely keep the 4.6 DOHC or run the 5.4 DOHC. don't expect much more than 500 bhp.

 

expect the 4v 5.4 found in the concept lightning. the cobra and lightning both come back in 06. there might be a focus and explorer as well. expect more power and torque than the viper and z06.

 

SVT needs to produce that turbo focus FR200 they were prototyping a few years ago.

 

DAMN! that's a lot of horsepower! say good bye to my Saleen, 06 Cobra here we come!

 

i said expect. they might build it like that, they might not. if they do i am getting one. they might even put the 351 40v v10 in the cobra. 500rwhp on the motor. that is around 550-600 at the crank. that would equal low 11s stock.

 

The power these cars are starting to put out from the factory is amazing. I bet I could hit all kinds of telephone poles with that kina power .

 

They arent making the 06' Cobra. No Cobras till at least 07 maybe 08'
