I suspect that many of the mufflers that attempt to give the V6 that V8 sound have drone. I assume that what I hear inside the car is drone, but I for one like it. I feel that it adds character and gives the car more of a muscle car feel. IMO, if you don't like drone, stick with your stock muffler.

drone sucked for me also, could not stand it at all and after a while my ears would actully hurt. had to change back to stock cats due to the drone. Now i just have loud mufflers and that is ok with me. Glad i did try the other way so now i can say not thankyou to it. I do miss the sound she made but i drive highway miles and at 60 it sucked so, the only plus i would say and its a big one is she sure turned heads when i gunned it.

I think the exhaust setup I get in the spring will be the following....

Kook's LT coated headers, with Kook'scatted X-pipe and MAC cat-back exhaust....I think this should give me a nice old school muscle car tone. Chime in if you think I'm wrong!!!!!

Sounds good to me! I have the MAC's and with the stock exhaust my car at full throttle could wake the dead!

The best sounding V6 4.0 Mustang I've heard was my wifes when I installed the stock GTmuffler from my GT. Honestly a set would have been perfect! The GT mufflers are louder on the V6 than on the GT itself!

I've never been able to hear "drone". Does anyone know if the SLP "Powerflo" produce any drone?
Almost no drone at all. Very little at lower RPMs and only when the windows are up. Roll down the windows and enjoy the throaty sound and little pops and backfires!
