Default 5 speed - Auto Tuner Diff?

A local fellow has a great deal on the XCal 2 tuner. He had it in his 06 GT 5 speed. I have an auto. Am I applying the correct logic in believing that the tuner is set up differently for a 5 speed then an auto? I'm from the old school days when one couldn't increase performance while wearing khaki trousers and nice shoes. Thanks

Not 100% sure but I think once the XCAL has been used on a car it downloads a code from that car. Then it can only be used on that car or it has to be sent back to dealer and be reset. I would stay away from that deal and just go ahead and buy a new one.

Yes your logic is correct his tuner would not work with your car unless you sent it in and had it reprogrammed for your car and th auto trans.

+1 on the need for a totally new tune, regardless of what tranny you have. And yes it is different for 5 spd and Autos.
What's the price on a used Xcal and how much for a new set of tunes?

He wants $250 for the tuner and the entire CAI. JLT and XCAL 2 . I have no idea what a reprogramming runs. Thanks for the info.
