Yup, I found out about that this weekend...went to get some change out of it on Sunday and I thought I broke it because it seemed to sink. I was like, WTF, cheap effin material...then I realized it came up and I was like HOLY SH** I can fit my spitter in the front and a big *** drink in the second one...SCORE

LOL!! Doesn't take much does it!!! When I made my first drive-thru in the new stang I started cursing ford when I put my drink in the holder... "Why the Hell would someone put a cup holder right where my arm needs to be to shift!!! Would someone please....oh it opens up ...SWEET!!!

Definatly a smart move on thier part...

GOOD WORK FORD!!!

Cool man...I don't really need to read my owners manual because all of you find everything I'd like to know before me....lol! I also like how the center console box is pretty big, and that it has the power outlet in it for a cell phone charging kit...they actually did some thinking when they designed these cars...cool!

One problem with this little "lid" is if you have cold drinks in this holder in the summer and they sweat it will run down into this hidden area and mold and stink if you do not keep it clean.

Maybe you guys will understand my excitement then.... I just found out that I can fit a whole box of tissues (not the standard box, but the still pretty large cube style box) in the storage area behind those cup holders. It fits nice and neat in the very back and there's still room in front of it fo some odds and ends. Now I can just lift the lid of the storage area and grab a tissue at any given moment! It's ok if it doesn't thrill you as much as it does me. I understand because my husband looked at me like I was nuts when I ran in the house to tell him about it just the other day. Ford must have done their homework!
