Also to add to this question how much of a power difference would there be in a Catted X compared to a Off Road X..... i know the o/r x would allow more flow creating more horsepower but considering smog and emissions im thinking i should prob just go ahead and get the legal high flow x pipe just wondering if there is a great difference in power?

If your gonna get the x-pipe then get the O/R one...Its pointless otherwise.My first dyno was 312.7RWHP with a canned 93 tune from Diablo/K&N CAI/O/R x-pipe & 3:90 gears(gears won't help HP).So yeah,I would say the O/R x-pipe is worth getting!

The major difference I had was the o/r x-pipe was just too loud.

I went with Pypes, Street X-pipe, which allows you to keep your stock Cats. It was only like $90., now that saying you get what you pay for is true [8D] there where some fitment issues with the exhaust hangers not lining up, but easily fixable. I also had glassbacks installed in mid-placement. in all honesty, its not as loud as I thought is was going to be, ( Of course what some people might think is loud, might not be loud to me ) I'm assuming though with no Cats, it would be louder. I feak'in love it, The one thing off the bat I noticed was the Low-end torque gain It really made the car wake up. Now I didn't have the car dyno'ed, but I can say this, when I was at the track, there where a few Stock 05' and 06's running as well, hitting around 13.9 to 14.2, with just my exhaust work and CAI, I was hitting around 13.6 in all of my runs, and then after only adding the SCT tuner, was I then able to hit 13.2 in all the runs I had made that night as well.

Just a catted X pipe alone will not likely be a noticeable performance improvement. You need to go off-road or build a complete system with a catback exhaust system and headers. The X pipe will change the sound of your exhaust however.
