Default Stripes

How much has it been costing people to get double stripes painted on their mustangs?

The whole kit painted and installed for the car with the stripes top to bottom -front to back $4500 with myself doing some of the work as well! So worth it though![sm=bling.gif][sm=nxsmile.gif]

The dealer I bought my first stang from quoted me $1300-1400 to paint them on my new gt.
I'm holding off on the stripes till I pick out my new hood and decide on the rear spoiler (might change it to a whale tail style)

mygt500: Very, very nice. You typically get what you pay for; awesome ride you have there.

A dealer doing them for under $1500 is a mistake. They aren't custom painters and surely aren't putting clear over the stripes so you'll have raised edges and edges not of the quality of a custom paint shop. You are better off spending the extra 1000 and getting them done right; othewise just go with vinyl and see if you even like having stripes.

Thank you Fairlane292....good comments are always appreciated! I have to agree with him about not having the dealer do it! I went to the dealer near my home near Detroit and the dealer painted stripes on the car and I thought it was vinyls. I checked the invoice and it did indeed say that there was painted stripes to the cost of 2000 dollars! Unbelievable to me and many others as well as evidenced by the many finger prints on the car on the hood stripes by people trying to scratch the paint to see if it was vinyl as many people did not believe it was paint! It was obvious that the dealer did not clear coat the stripes and blend them in so there is no edges! Hope this helps someone in making a great decision on a costly but worth it paint job!

Your welcome! It's basic logic, ya want custom paint ya go to a custom painter.
