Default Underdrive Pulleys

I was thinking about replacing the stock pulleys with a new set of underdrive pulleys. I talked to a service manager at the local Ford dealership about this and he recommended against it. He said that this would have a negative effect on the alternator which in turn would cause battery problems. He also said he had known of several instances in which they had performed service to correct problems.

Thoughts, experience, please.

Lot of LS-1 guy's do this mod.
Most say that unless your running a big sound system you won't have any issue's at all.
They also say that they can feel the difference, but that may be wishfull thinking.
It is a good simple to do mod that will usually be worth .10 to .15 in the 1/4 as well as give you a slight increase in your mpg.

I just got mine installed yesterday. It's a good mod that you can actually feel a slight difference. And between the tune and CAI, it all adds up, right?

And for the alternator, it still charges at the same. No problems at all!

Yeah, I did some reserch on this as well, with the earlier, late model stangs, UD pullies did cause issues with the alternator, but with the New Stangs, it hasn't been an issue. When I asked around for the best UD pullies on the market, one name, and one name only came up, and that was "Steeda". So I have my Steeda pullies now, and am hoping to have it installed in the next couple of weeks [sm=smiley20.gif]
