I was just about to order the blackout lights for my front and back....are they illegal in California? Should i get the cover or go with just the tints?

tinted tails will get you pulled over in some places, ive got them and have not yet gotten pulled over >knock on wood< I have drivin my car all around the bay area and so cal and ive been getting lucky so far. My windows are tinted as well. I think if you just dont drive like an *** you should be ok.

Technically any light or light covering that does not have a DOT certification # is illegal in all 50 states, as hence they are for "offroad use" But it all breaks down to how hard the local enforcement is on it.

Get the covers, they take two secs to remove.

All depends on the local PD. They can pull you over for it and you can get a ticket if they want.

[sm=signs003.gif]. Ive actually been stopped with my taillights tinted and windows and didn't get anything for them. The cop was cool though, just gave me a warning for accelerating to fast. It will all depend on the 5-0 in your area.

Was wondering about this too. I just ordered the front and back covers.. thought it would look good on black... Now i'm wondering. How much does it dim the headlights? I run with my fogs on most the the time anyway..

Tail Lights your less likely to get pulled over. Just getsome bright lights for the brakes so you dont get hit. Headlight covers on the other hand...alot of cops around here will pull you over for headlight ones.
