Default LT Headers - Final Decision

I started this thread for people's personal experiences with ARH, Kooks, and Dynatech headers.

I am currently decided on and ordering the ARH 1 3/4 longtubes with high-flow cats after deciding the1 5/8 Kooks would not be enough. I'm curious if people would post there dyno results, just to see if I am making the right decision.

If anybody has opinions or mainly personal experiences to share please do so now, as I will be ordering them tomorrow(ARH 1 3/4 as of now).

Sounds like a good decision to me. I have seen several dyno runs and between all the brands I've seen, there has been at most a 1-2 HP variation in performance. That is well less than the expected error of the Dyno. Any brand of LTs you buy is going to perform the same.

The difference is in the fitment and fabrication quality...and as I've said before, the AR are among the best.

Kooks and American Racing ARE the best you can go with. Though I'm staying N/A, I'm hoping to be going with the Kooks 1-5/8" set up. The AR's are an amazing set of headers too. Though I'm curious as to why you say "1 5/8 Kooks would not be enough", Why aren't they enough? I know that the Kooks set up is a Mid length Header, as the AR's are Full Lenth Headers, other that that it's the diameter of them, with one being 1-5/8" and the AR's being 1-3/4"....

with my dyno tune and intake and slp longtube headers i put down right at 300rwhp and 315 rwtq....but what is most impressive to me is that from 1,100 rpms to 5,000rpms the torque never goes under 250 lbft....and peak torque is right at 4,600 rpms for me at 315 so i'm vey happy but you have quite a few mods so your gains are likely to be much much higher.

Sounds like a great decision and the headers will help with a S/C should you do that in the future or even a turbo. need the 1 3/4 primaries for the turbo or S/C
