Transmission "clunk"?

Transmission "clunk"?
I've been noticing a "Clunk" when I shift from first to second in my 5 spd manual, almost like there's a really hard shift.
It feels like it's thunking hard into gear, and it only does it from 1st to second. Ifirst thoughtthatwas me, that I didn't have the clutch stepped in all the way to the floor when I was shifting, but I noticed this to be happening again, and this was with the pedal all the way to the floor and me babying the clutch a bit (I was driving down a residential street, and there's kids on the street; no sense trying to hot dog it).
Anyone else noticed this? Is it just me, or is it something I should get in to the dealer for a look? The car's barely a month old, a brand new 2007 Mustang GT, so I don't think it should be making this noise like that unless it's me and my style of driving...

RE: Transmission "clunk"?
I notice a 'clunk' as well. It normally happens when you shift in the low RPMs. Typically the lower gears because you aren't going that fast. I heard it's the result of our two piece driveshaft. The fix? You could try taking it to the dealer, or maybe get a one piece aluminum driveshaft, and make some horsepower too. Up to you.

RE: Transmission "clunk"?
It would be about $600-$700.
A cheaper possible solution would be getting a set of adj. lower control arms and try adjusting your pinion angle. Changing it 1 degree positive or negative might help and the control arms are a good modification anyway.

Ok, good, that makes me feel better, knowing that it's not just me.
Hmm...I wonder how much an aluminum 1 pc driveshaft would be?
