hmmmm need help

well i jsut finished installing the adjustable spohn LCAs

but what the hell am i adjusting it for? lol

where should i adjust it to and if its at a wrong adjustment what damage can be caused?


on another note, i took it for a test drive and woooooo it feels so much better, atleast the rear end does. it doesnt hop all around it feels planted to the ground!

You're adjusting the pinion angle, which is the angle between the rear end and driveshaft. Lengthening the LCA's will cause the pumpkin to tilt downward, shortening them does the opposite. If you lowered the rear then your pinion angle is probably close to 0 or even positive which you don't want. I have mine set at -2. If your pinion angle is to far out of wack it can cause clunking when shifting and cause premature wear of your pinion bearing. Nothing is going to happen tomorrow if it's not optimal, nor the next day, but if you don't want to buy an angle finder and learn to adjust it yourself then i'd suggest taking it to an alignment shop and ask them to adjust your pinion angle for you.

oh ok, thanks for the immediate response!

i'm taking it in tomorrow to get aligned and get the 4.10s installed so ill have them do that also?

If they know how to install 4.10's, then they'll know what to set the pinion angle at. I've read anywhere from -2 to -3 is the stock angle. -2 seems to work well on my car.

damn, this is why i don't like having other people work on my car lol, but i don't know how to do 4.10s and i realyl dont want to go into the rear end of a new car myself.

maybe next time eh? lol
