Default RE: Pinion/suspension question

ORIGINAL: northy_polk

i followed just about everything up until this point. I have the Steeda HD Upper Strut mounts that allow for some camber adjustment [up to 1 degree], but I'm not sure what to do from here. I bought them because i was trying to get rid of a thunking noise, not for track performance. But now I'd like to take advantage of their slight adjustability. So. . . the alignment shop puts the camber bolts in there and gets the alignment set for street, but when i get to the autoX/road race, i can adjust them by giving them thedesired amount of "turns"to provide more camber [toe out?] that is more appropriate for the track. I realize it's not exactly this easy, but I hope I communicated what my question was!
The problem is that camber affects toe. So if you change camber at the track, toe will also change. As mentioned, you can play around with it on an alignemnt rack to see how it all works out, and a bump steer kit may mitigate the amount of toe change, but it will not be a simple thing to figure out.

Personally, I think you can run about -1.5 degrees of camber with 0 toe and get decent tire wear both on the street and track (with street tires). Track tires will require more camber.

I just had a good two hours or so of track time at Gingerman last week and came away with relatively minor left front outside tire wear, which is a pretty nice accomplishment for that track. The Goodyear F1 Supercar tires are amazingly sticky for a street tire, probably one of thebest "arrive and drive" tires out there.
