Default New 2007 GT/CS Seems Slow

Hey everyone - I have a new GT (my first Mustang) and although it sounds great in all gears, I dont get that "pressed into the seat" feeling. My most recent car was a BMW 540i Sport. That BMW had 299hp and I assume is heavier but "seemed" so much quicker. Even in 2nd and 3rd, the BMer seemed to pull me into the seat.

I have seen the three facory mods (additional 20 HP, quicker off the line, and lowering kit). Does anyone have any experience with these? What other recommendations do you have? Thanks everyone.

first is it an auto or a manual...?

What you want is a CAI and tuner.

The new drive by wire puts alot of delay in the Throttle bodyopening, the tune gets rid of it. Just order a C&L Racer and an Xcal2 and you will be very happy.
Your car will really wake up.

I got my C&L CAI & tuner from Justin over at VMP and it put down 285rwhp and had me running 13.1-13.2 at 106-107mph in the quater mile with my GT/CS

I had that slowfeeling for the first 1000 miles. My GT/CS got pretty quick once the car got used to how I drive. The SOTP meter isn't really a good indication. I implore you to look at your speedo and see how fast you hit 60. The car may not 'feel' quicker, but it is stupid fast.

CAI + tune = kick in the pants acceleration.

I wanted to take her back to the dealer for the first 5k service so I pulled mine off and flashed the stock tune, then drove around for a week - big difference. The first thing I did after picking her up was drive home and re-muscle her up

I know it's hard to do but remember to break it in for atleast 500 miles before you beat on it to hard and that being said get a nice CAI/Tuner "Cold Air Intake" and I just have a feeling it's an auto so get the SCT Tuner NOT the Diablo, the SCT will allow you to adjust your shift points firmness and that along with the gains from the CAI and the new tune will give you that In the seat feeling you thought you should have gotten stock... plus you can use a higher octane gas and will get alittle better milage not to mention around 25-30 HP depending on what you get.

The mustang isnt the quickest feeling car but it does have some power and will out run a lot of cars out there not all but a lot seat to pants may not be the same but it is dont worry just watch how fast you can get to 60 its scary quick ... when im in the suv i always drive so slow because im used to having to be so easy on the gas because the stang will get away from you

It has loads of torque, and it delivers it seamlessly. Nothing like high rev / turbomotors where you get a kick in the back once you hit the higher revs. So yeah, it feels slow, but it really isn't... Although I do think the V8 we have is rev-happy (it pulls a lot harder from 4k up).

Yeah these cars deliver the power in a deceptive way - nice and smooth

merging onto a pretty empty highway, the on ramp was empty and I got on it - my buddy was in the passenger seat when I let off in the center lane where I wanted to be, I looked at the speedo and told him 'That was 110'...

He was like 'Are you serious? Man that was smooth......'
