You could just have it painted, or better yet, powder-coated black. I agree that would make it looker better. The brushed billet look just makes it stand out more.

i just did my order, jegs said 7-10 days delay, so i guess there are not available yet. I have owned several quicksilvers over the years. I always liked them, same as any ratchet i have had. I am sure the install is simple.

They told you 7-10 days? Over on the other forum, the guy at B&M in charge of development says that he has no idea when they are going to be available yet. It's going to be at least several months. I think Jeg's is just trying to take your money.

EDIT: I just called Jeg's and the guy on the phone told me Feb. 13th. They're still full of it. Latest info on these is at least a couple months before they start shipping from B&M. B&M just bought Hurst so they are delayed for that reason.

Yeah, I got the same thing when I added it to my shopping cart on the site. After that I called, and they said Feb. 13th.

I got a similar story when I called about the Hurst Billet Short Throw for my 05 manual back in April of last year. "Oh, it should ship out in a couple of weeks", they said. That shifter hasn't even left the manufacturer yet, and probably never will. That was 8 months ago too.

I'm sure Jeg's didn't get as big as they are by being complete idiots, but I personally have not any good luck with them.

[sm=rant.gif]

I called with questions about a set of Flowmasters for my 05 and they got it completely wrong. I ended up having to send the mufflers back as soon as I got them. I asked what I thought was a pretty simple question, "Are the tips rolled, or double-walled?". Their answer was "Both!". I said, "I don't think that's possible, and at least not practical, are you sure?". "Yep, it's both". Bologna. Of course I got them and they are rolled, not double-walled like I wanted. Needless to say, I don't care much for Jeg's, but I do want this shifter in a bad way. So, if they were the only ones with it, I'd be buying from them.

Sorry for the rant. I feel better now.

yeah, i definately would not go to jegs for tech help. If you have ever been there, it's a bunch of high school kids and retired sewer workers there. But, when i need something for my car, if the are cheaper than summit, i buy.

Sorry to dredge up an older thread..

Has anyone actually purchased this shifter?
I noticed that rpmoutlet has it available for $156.95
http://www.rpmoutlet.com/05v6shifter.htm#1
Sounds a hell of a lot better than Jeg's $300.
I'd swap it out for $156, just want to hear from someone that has the shifter already.
I've had my 06 convertible for two days and I already want a ratchet shifter like my old musclecar.

Actually, that price is for the manual shifter, they just mislisted all of the info/pics. The shifter still hasn't been released yet. Alot of people have had bad experiences with rpmoutlet btw.

Wow...I am tempted ny that RPM offering as well!!!!

But, knowing RPM, they will take the money, B&M's price will be higher, then they will ask for more.

Its ugly, but I REEEEAALLLLYYY want it!!!!
