Caution

So last month my buddy traded his 04 GTO 5.7 for the new 06 GTO 6.0 and wanted to see what it had... we went to the track and I lost twice. I was mad of course and knew that my stang can run better then it did that day. So the track is coming up next weekend and we decided that we would run our cars today twice and see what happens. 1st run- I took him by a car length.. The 2nd run he turned off his traction and I took him by 3 lengths. He fishtailed like a **** with out it on-- dam near completly went side ways. So now we are 2 & 2 and both can't wait to see how the track goes this coming weekend. I guess that we'll see....

Last month i raced a 5.7 GTO on the highway, I held onto him for about 7 seconds but he started to burn me once we got past 90mph.. I was shocked i held on to him with my v6! .. but my enthusiasm for my cars surprizing power died when i found out the guy driving the GTO has down syndrome or something.. now why do you give a car like that to a guy with down syndrome? I know he could have given me the 3rd degree burn on that race, but he couldnt... It all comes to show, its not the car.. its the driver that makes or breaks a race...

Haha Skoshi! My boy is far from having the downs --- I think. Thats good that you held it to 90 though... sucks that they driver was retardo! The 5.7 is 350 stock ... this may sound dumb but what is the v6 stang stock... I have no idea.

Well Ford claims 210HP, but fellow V6'ers dyno'd stock stangs and came up with 185HP(auto) 190HP (manual).. but the torque is well above 200lbs/ft on both transmissions... I dyno'd my car and it came up with 230HP and 252 lb/ft torque...

Remember! all dyno testing procedures will vary from place to place, depending on the machine or procedure.. (test results may vary)

!!!Oh yeah, im not teasing in any way people with down syndrome, I am sorry if that offends anybody. I know what I say and what is written can mean two different things. Im using that only as my excuse to why I kept on with him for that long.

Technically the 6.0 GTO should be superior to us but it really is a drivers race due to the fact that yes it may have a 400HP motor but the rest of the car is really not set up for racing......Hence why we hear about GTO kills so much.But I will say if you encounter a 6.0 GTO with a good driver mod you will have your hands full!I raced a guys 6.0 GTO & crushed him bad!He let his friend drive the next race and we were door to door with him edging me out by a fender!Now I had very little mods then,but now he would'nt do that to me!

GTO is a Corvette with a Grand Am body, should be fast but i guess they are too heavy to really dominate stangs. They do have a higher top speed though.

Caution

Well it was more then driver mod -- he's stock and I'm not. GTO was an auto and I have a manuall. Oh and in case I didn't mention it... GTO driver drives pretty dam well. I have to race a vette... maybe it's just me but I seem to find the 60 year old cruiser every time I see one on the road. I am curious to weather or not I can beat one --- differance of 300 pounds that favors the vette... about the same that I had over goat.
