Is there a quick way to remove 05 mufflers?
Unfortunately, the MAC axle-back mufflers are too loud for my neighbors, especially since I leave very early in the AM. But, I'd like to swap them back on for a weekend of car shows every once in a while. Is it possible to get the mufflers off without removing the frame brackets? It looks like they should slide forward out of the rubber mounts, if I could get the pipes off. Anyone ever done it? Thanks.
Tell you neighbors to pack sand! I have SLP Powerflo's. Are they louder than those? I doubt it. Unless your running straight pipes like the SLP Loudmouths, they can go pound sand 'till daybreak.
For real.... tell your neighbors to take a hike...[:@]
Just dont give it any Throttle..when you leavi in the morning..I have the SLP LM
and you can defintly leave quite if done right...

Of course. You never need to remove the frame brackets. Just loosen the clamp that holds the muffler onto the pipe. Then the whole muffler will just slide out of the mounts.
I'm with the "tell em to pound sand" crowd. But...if in and out of your driveway if your only concern, you could probably design a "pistol-type" silencer to stick in your exhaust outlets for a block......

i guess i'm the only one (so far) who appreciates that your a
good neighbor.....i know what your saying about the
hanger brackets and i don't know of an easy way
to R&R. i suppose you can convert the hanger brackets
to a quick release type of system, but i'm not sure
how you would go about it, or if it's worth the trouble...

Tell them be glad I don't live near them... If someone bitched about my exhaust when I start the car or when taking it easy, they will hate the next day and the day after that as I would make sure I got on the gas everytime..
And I'm sure my car is a ALOT louder with my setup then the macs

If it's just for the weekend just losen the clamps and the rubber hangers you can do both sides in 20 mins on your back.
I am with everyone else I am a good neighbor but lets be real here inless your getting on it all the time there not that loud atleast not any louder then a passing plane or kid with a banging stereo.
I wonder if someone has said something or you just think it's to loud?
