well, i just decided to remove my factory mufflers and leave it that way and it would be exhactly like SLP loud mouths. well, it took me 1 hour to remove the mufflers.. mufflers itself dont move without removing those little 2 holes that 2 piece of metal goes through them to hold the muffler tight. it was biatch to remove those but finally done and i drove the car, i think i LIKE the sound it is LOUD!!

so anyone drives around like this? also any performance loss without mufflers?

So you have none what so ever ? I belive you will lose power without the back pressure and just as a thought does the end of your pipe stop directly under the gas tank now if not it's still under the car and you might not smell it while driving but in traffic or at a stop I gota think it's going to come up into the car and smell.

I drive around without mufflers but I have the SLP LMs, last night I drove around with out cats or mufflers. I thought the SLPs where loud before but throw on a O/R X-pipe and they are ridiculous. I'm actually puting the stock mufflers back on till I can afford LT Headers with high flow cats....

When I changed mine I drove around a bit with no mufflers to see what it was like. I quickly got annoyed at the sound of the unsupported pipes banging around under the car. Plus it clattered terribly when I revved the engine.

I took my mufflers off and I agree...it sounds awesome. But I couldn't just leave it like that. You need to get yourself some hangers and a clamp to tighten where you cut it off. NoRATTLE sound whatsoever on my car. Also, no smell EVER...you have to make sure you don't cut it too close.I noticed a gain a gas mileage and power as well. No back pressure at all. A month ago, we welded on a pipe and exhaust tip just for show so it doesn't look like a have nothing there. I've had those suckers off for 6 months now and I have yet to experience backpressure, rattling and noises, loss in gas mileage, smell or loss in power. Of course, I have the muffler stored for any case that I need to throw it back on.

i couldve sworn there was a debate about if it hurt our engines without backpressure, and i thought that it was fine with no backpressure. am i mistaken? thats just what i remember
