Default Seeing Amber but not RED

I just got my amber fog light inserts today. I got them at Showlenses.com. So now I have amber fog lights on my '07 too.[8D]But there was a post a few days ago about gauges talking, that is the fuel gauge turning red. Well I am low on fuel, 41 miles to empty, but my fuel gauge is still blue. Blue being the mycolor that I have chose for this month. fd

Just keep driving dude! It'll change to red! Just don't stray too far from any gas stations. Mine started when I had maybe 5 miles to go, according to the readout

It definately turns red, I have personally experienced it... everytime I need to fill up its usually around "10 miles left". Im not actually sure how many gallons our tank is but when I fill up I usually put in just at or slightly above 14 gallons. One time Im going to put a 5 gallon spare tank in my trunk and just run it dry to see how many miles past "0 miles left" it can actually go.

It does turn red, the sensor is different in every car. Usually it beeps when 50 miles left and then will turn red with 10.

bl1nkage, i wouldnt run your fuel completely out.
I dont know about newer cars, but on older cars, if you run them out of fuel, it can kill the fuel pump..

It won't necessarily kill the fuel pump, but running the fuel that low (especially that often) isn't good. A lot of sediment settles at the bottom of your tank, and if it gets sucked into your fuel system and then into your engine, it can definitely shorten the life of your engine.

I got caught last night. The car warned me with a beep at 50 miles to go, then another beep at 25 ish, then turned red right around 12ish.. Its a good thing you've got the IUP, because im almost postive thats the only way you get all the warnings and red back light. I ran the clock past "0 miles till empty" last night right about 5 miles over the "0 Left". This wasnt purposly either, I got stuck in some bad traffic after my Garmin GPS got me lost...
P.S. When I filled up, it took right at 15.5 gallons![&:]

I was reading the manual last night and it states that when any gauge goes into a warning state they turn red. So I am guessing this would include the TEMP, OIL, and BATT.??
